Weekly Photo Challenge: Sunset

Let me start off by saying I’m not fully satisfied with how this shot turned out.

This is my attempt at capturing the making of a Baquardi Sunset cocktail for the weekly challenge. I like the stop action effect, but I’m not happy with the coloration. Indoor photography has never been a strength. Perhaps after a couple of these cocktails, the shots will start getting better. πŸ˜‰

  1. Love the interpretation! I think the shot is fine. You got the action of the syrup and I see the sunset colors. Sunsets are all unique and so is this drink. But I’m curious, did the shots get better after a few? πŸ˜›

    1. Thank you halfcnote. My kitchen, where most of my indoor photography takes place, is painted a goldenrod yellow. Everything I shoot there has that golden glow ( isn’t it great?!?!). Thank you for your comment.

  3. Hold those cocktail shots…this photo is already beautiful and stunning by itself. I was looking at the spoon and I thought you captured the golden glow of the sunset on it….and the colors of the drink are just intoxicating….even without alcohol. You have a gift to create wonderful images…that’s still me without any cocktails…. very enjoyable…have a fun weekday!

  4. I think the color in the spoon is perfect — just like the sun melting into the ocean. They had a mixology competition on our cruise. Did you make it to one on your cruise?? πŸ˜‰

    1. That is an interesting thought. The sun melting into the ocean… I can totally see that. That’s the wonder of photography. One photo can say so many different things to different people.

I did not do a mixology competition on our cruise. That sounds like a blast though.

      Thank you for your comment!

    1. Thank you summerfield84. I have too many trees around me to try and get a *real* sunset, so I made my own. πŸ™‚ The photos submitted for the challenge are just breath taking. I think it merits a little travel to get a few sunset shots!!

    1. Thank you @nantuckettiechic. Your sunset was an *actual* sunset πŸ˜‰ You managed to capture the sun just as it slipped behind a cloud that perfectly separated the cool blues from the warm yellows. It was full of color! Thank you for visiting my blog!
